Solar PV (Photovoltaics) is the original Renewable Technology solution that kick-started the UK’s Renewable Energy drive, and remains one of the most popular forms of renewable tech amongst both domestic and commercial properties throughout the country.
With electric bills rising and the cost of solar PV at an all time low, it’s never been a better time to invest in a renewable future. But first let’s explain a little bit about how this system works.
What Is Solar Power?
Solar Power is energy that is produced from the sun and converted using special solar PV panels that are installed usually on the roof of a property.
A Solar power array generates electricity by harnessing the sun’s irradiance and converting it for use through both the property and the National Grid. By absorbing energy from the sun and converting it, you can power your home using clean energy and reduce your electric bills in the process.
The amount of energy generated will depend on the size of system installed, and our experts can design a system that is perfectly tailored to your property’s needs.
How Does It Work?
Systems can be roof mounted, wall mounted or flat-roof mounted via special frames. We also mount solar PV on stand-alone frames in gardens or fields, or even on special motorised frames that track the sun from dawn to dusk.
Our in-house design team has vast experience in both the Domestic and Commercial Solar Power markets and can design and install any size of system for any application. Contact us now to see how you could benefit from Solar Power.
Up until March 2019, anyone who installed a solar PV system was eligible to receive payments through the Government’s Feed-in Tariff (FiT) scheme. This scheme is no longer available, but anyone who had signed up prior to it’s ending in March will still receive payments for the rest of their tariff.
It’s not all bad though, as thanks to the introduction of battery storage you can store all of the energy that you would be wasting and use it for a rainy day (literally), saving you money in the process.
A lot of people think that the Government tariffs are gone. WRONG – PV still represents a great Return-on-Investment. Installation costs are around half what they were in the early days, and new technologies like battery storage which allows you to use your generated electricity at the exact time you need it, even at night or in a power cut!
